West Pole

The concepts of East and West Poles are from Piers Anthony's Blue Adept series. The two poles are connected by what appears to be a wavy ribbon "curtain." But it is actually a straight line. But then again, a wire, even if twisted, is the shortest path between two points if you happen to be some electricity. Think about it.

East and West Poles are also mentioned in Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne in Chapter 9. Christopher Robin says that people don't like to talk about them.
